Dedication: Lorelai's Big Day!

November 15, 2009 was a huge day in Lorelai's life: that is the day that we dedicated her to the Lord!  What this means is that Matt and I got up in front of our church (and our family) and promised to raise Lorelai in a Christian household and to teach her Christian values both through studying and learning and by example.  She didn't get baptised or anything like that, it is more of a promise from us to her.  What an awesome thing to be able to get up in front of almost everyone we know and to stand up and say that Jesus is important enough to her that we want our church and family to hold us accountable in raising her in a way that will lead her to the Lord as soon as possible!

While we were so excited to do this, it's also a big responsibility!  It falls on us to teach her and help guide her into a decision that she can make on her own when she's ready.  This is just so important to us because, obviously, we want to spend eternity with our baby!

I'm so excited to see God work through her life and in her life and to see her grow up in an environment that is surrounded by the love of Christ.  We had family come in from out of town and just our family took up two pews in the church!

Here is a list of the family that came to support LL on her big day:

Grammy and Pop (Matt's mom and dad)
Gigi and Poppy (My mom and step-dad)
Oma and Opa (My dad and step-mom)
Uncle Bryan and Aunt Missy (Matt's brother and sister-in-law)
Aunt Laura, Uncle Gino and Ben (my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew)

What an amazing amount of people - and so rarely all in one room!  The day was amazing, LL did FANTASTIC during her service, and Grammy and Pop hosted a lunch at their house in honor of LL and EVERYONE came!  That definitely doesn't happen, EVER!  Such a great day, and thanks to Uncle Gino for taking some great pictures for us to remember it by!
